On 19 March 2026, an online seminar “Introduction to Data Pseudonymisation and Anonymisation” brought together more than 200 researchers, academic staff, and doctoral students from various institutions to expand their knowledge of personal data protection in research.
At the beginning of March, the international conference Alpine Privacy Days 2026 took place in Zuoz, Switzerland, bringing together experts in data protection, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence from across Europe.

On 12 February this year, a doctoral networking event was held at Rīga Stradiņš University under the theme “The Role of the Data Stewards in Doctoral Studies.”
Data curator Mikus Melderis participated in a five-day training course, R Programming for Statistics and Machine Learning, in February 2026. The course was led by researchers from the Latvian Institute of Organic Synthesis and focused on the practical application of statistical data analysis
Kristaps Oškalns, a representative of the Latvian Data Curators Network and administrator of the DataverseLV repository, participated in the EOSC Winter School 2026, which took place in Nice, France, at the end of January.
