The results, data, and presentation of the survey “Open Science and Research Data Management Practices in Latvia” are now available
The Latvian Data Steward Network has conducted a survey of Latvian researchers and doctoral students titled “Open Science and Research Data Management Practices in Latvia”. The survey aimed to explore researchers’ understanding, skills, and experience in open science and research data management.
More than 250 respondents from Latvian higher education and research institutions participated in the survey.
The survey gathered the views, perceptions, and experiences of Latvian researchers and doctoral students regarding the planning, documentation, storage, sharing, publication, and reuse of research data. Particular attention was also paid to the implementation of FAIR principles, institutional support, and researchers’ needs for developing competencies in research data management.
The survey results show researchers’ current experience and practices, and highlight areas where we should strengthen competencies, develop institutional support, and promote high-quality research data management in Latvia.

The survey was conducted, and the materials were prepared within the framework of the project “Support for the Implementation of Open Science in Practice, as well as the Development of Solutions for Scientific Data Sharing and Participation in the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC)” (No. 2.1.3.1.i.0/2/23/I/CFLA/002).
