Scope

A Repository for the Entire
National Scientific Community

DataverseLV is the national research data repository for Latvia, supporting all higher education institutions, research organizations, and publicly funded research projects across all scientific disciplines. The repository serves a broad designated community consisting of researchers and Data Stewards affiliated with Latvian scientific institutions, as well as potential data users – other researchers, students, policymakers, and the wider public.

Data curation & quality

Data is only useful if it is well-
documented and reusable.

Support & Consultation

Researchers are encouraged to consult with us early. We provide user guides and direct consultations to help improve datasets either before or during the deposit process.

Data Stewards Review

Every dataset is carefully reviewed by a Data Steward before publication. Stewards use a Data Quality Checklist to verify technical, legal, and metadata compliance.

Standardized Workflow

Our curation follows a standardized workflow to ensure every dataset meets the same high standards. We only accept data that holds long-term value and is in a preservation-ready format.

Global visibility

Discoverable Worldwide

Data deposited in DataverseLV is discoverable worldwide. We assign every dataset a persistent Digital Object Identifier (DOI) via DataCite. Because our metadata is harvested by major international registries (such as Google Data Search and OpenAIRE Explore), your research is indexed by search engines and easily findable and citable by researchers globally.

Persistent DOIs

We assign every dataset a persistent Digital Object Identifier (DOI) via DataCite for easy citing.

Global Harvesting
