In February 2025, representatives of the Latvian Data Stewards Network participated in the international digital governance conference – The 19th International Digital Curation Conference (IDCC25) – organised by the Digital Curation Centre (DCC). The conference took place in The Hague, Netherlands, and its main theme was “Twenty years back, twenty years forward: lessons and directions in digital curation”.
IDCC25 took place over five days and included both practical workshops and panel discussions, which addressed topics such as the development of sustainable research infrastructure, the creation of data governance policies, the possibilities of using artificial intelligence in data governance, and effective support mechanisms for researchers. Participants also had the opportunity to attend presentations on data sharing challenges, institutionalised support models, and European data space initiatives, which allowed them to compare the experiences of different countries and find new ideas for the development of their institutions.
Representatives of the Latvian Data Stewards Network participated in several conference sessions and discussions, learning about the latest trends and approaches in data management.
