DataverseLV – the Latvian national research data repository – is open for use by all researchers from Latvian scientific institutions, as well as researchers of Latvian origin worldwide!
The research data repository is a secure digital site where research data can be stored long- erm, as well as made available to other researchers and the wider public, thus promoting the development of open science.
Specialists from the Latvian Data Stewards Network help researchers prepare datasets for deposit in the repository and provide advice on the effective use of the repository. Contact us – datukuratori@vpc.lv!
The DataverseLV repository development team is actively working on the development of the repository to promote the sustainability of the repository and its integration into the international research infrastructure.
Since its launch, DataverseLV:
- Became an official partner of DataCite, which allows assigning DOI identifiers to datasets, thus providing a unique and permanent identifier that improves the long-term availability and findability of the dataset, as well as facilitating citation and integration with publications.
- Included in the re3data.org registry of research data repositories, which increases the international visibility of the repository, for example, on platforms such as Argos, and improves the trustworthiness of the repository.
- Included in the official repository installation list of the repository software developers (Harvard University Dataverse Project), promoting international recognition and inclusion in the global Dataverse repository community.
- Integrated into the OpenAIRE Explore search engine, which collects more than 82 million datasets and many other research-related resources in one place. The OpenAIRE Explore search engine also provides the ability to find datasets published in the DataverseLV repository in the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) search engine
- Participated in the FIDELIS project with the aim of creating a new network of trusted European digital repositories. Participation in this project promotes the integration of DataverseLV with various European- evel initiatives, as well as provides an opportunity to follow the best practices of repository management, which can also be implemented in Latvia.
- The DataverseLV repository is also actively working to obtain the CoreTrustSeal certificate, which certifies that the data repository meets international standards for data management and long- erm preservation. This increases the reliability of the repository, promotes data sustainability, and provides researchers with secure and high-quality data storage.
We invite Latvian researchers to use the DataverseLV platform for long-term preservation and publication of research data, thus strengthening the development of an open science culture in Latvia!
