Topics relevant to research data management were also discussed:\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-setsize=\"-1\" data-leveltext=\"\uf0b7\" data-font=\"Symbol\" data-listid=\"2\" data-list-defn-props=\"\" data-aria-posinset=\"1\" data-aria-level=\"1\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">basic principles of open science and research data openness\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li aria-setsize=\"-1\" data-leveltext=\"\uf0b7\" data-font=\"Symbol\" data-listid=\"2\" data-list-defn-props=\"\" data-aria-posinset=\"2\" data-aria-level=\"1\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">ethical aspects of research data management, their\u00a0protection\u00a0and the nuances of sensitive data processing\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li aria-setsize=\"-1\" data-leveltext=\"\uf0b7\" data-font=\"Symbol\" data-listid=\"2\" data-list-defn-props=\"\" data-aria-posinset=\"3\" data-aria-level=\"1\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">development of a research data management plan and use of the\u00a0DMPonline\u00a0tool\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li aria-setsize=\"-1\" data-leveltext=\"\uf0b7\" data-font=\"Symbol\" data-listid=\"2\" data-list-defn-props=\"\" data-aria-posinset=\"4\" data-aria-level=\"1\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">storage,\u00a0sharing\u00a0and licensing of research data\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li aria-setsize=\"-1\" data-leveltext=\"\uf0b7\" data-font=\"Symbol\" data-listid=\"2\" data-list-defn-props=\"\" data-aria-posinset=\"5\" data-aria-level=\"1\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">research data repositories and their selection\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li aria-setsize=\"-1\" data-leveltext=\"\uf0b7\" data-font=\"Symbol\" data-listid=\"2\" data-list-defn-props=\"\" data-aria-posinset=\"6\" data-aria-level=\"1\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">creation and improvement of research data management services in organisations, etc.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">The training participants also had to perform practical tasks, analyse the practices of various\u00a0institutions\u00a0and solve specific problem cases that data stewards\u00a0encounter\u00a0in their daily work. DCC experts generously shared their practical experience and knowledge accumulated over more than 20 years.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">During the training, not only was valuable knowledge\u00a0acquired, but also cooperation between stewards was strengthened, which will effectively allow for the coordination of research data management initiatives in Latvia. This experience serves as an essential step towards unified research data management in line with best world practices and will also help institutions adapt to modern international requirements.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">This training is part of a project aimed at improving research data management skills in Latvian higher education and research institutions and improving research data management practices. Within the project is being developed the Latvian National Research Data Repository\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/dataverse.lv\/en\/celvedis\/\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">DataverseLV<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"none\">, which\u00a0complies with\u00a0FAIR principles and is planned to be integrated into the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC).
